Notes: I thought this fic was finished at 1200 words. Then I ran 6 miles and realized I wasn't finished. I banged out another 3000 words and got stuck. A very special thank you to my beta [livejournal.com profile] ldthomps who talked me through the block, helped me round out the fic, and then beta'd it. Thank you as well to [livejournal.com profile] moosesal who did another couple rounds of editing and came up with the title. I've gotten so many compliments on the title and I've been wanting to say, "It wasn't me! It was Sal!" so now I have and feel better for it.

I am super happy about this fic and even happier that my recipient [livejournal.com profile] damelola loved it too. Any remaining mistakes are my own

I dropped my laptop off to get a new hard drive yesterday. I feel so lost without it. I have no idea how I spent so many years sitting at this desk in my living room. Not when there's a cozy couch three feet away.

I had a surprise day off yesterday. I spent it working in my house and going to Lowes with my folks to pick up some much needed supplies for upcoming projects. Tom [who I discovered is smoking again due to supposed boredom] now has *plenty* of projects to keep his hands busy. After, Mom and I went to Kohls to spend some of that good "free" Kohls cash. She picked up the last few items I needed to make my new bathroom awesome.

Lastly, my glamorous New Years Eve plans consisted of: eating pizza, drinking wine, rolling coins, and *finally* watching Inglourious Basterds. I also finally read the Expendables comics I had stashed in my to read pile. The movie was better than the comics

Yuletide post! I was matched on The Good Wife with this request:

I'd really like something focusing on Cary after his choice to join the DA's office. I think it's Kalinda that says that the move looks good on him, and Cary keeps going on about how he's after moral clarity -- the reality of Childs' DA office (and really, any prosecutor's office) is that moral clarity's never been further off. Remember the moment in the court martial when Alicia strongarm's Cary into the witness stand? He looked like a imp, unhealthy, full of a rotting self-righteousness. I want a story about *that*. Feel free to throw in whatever, whomever you want (I would've listed Wendy Scott-Carr if she were a listable character, Glenn Childs) -- I think Cary's fall from grace is a great opportunity to work in sex, drugs (which were around beforehand, too, canonically). But hell, something about Cary! Anything about Cary!

I'd like to thank [livejournal.com profile] ladycat777 for shaping up my turns of phrase and making them sing and [livejournal.com profile] ldthomps for the final polish.

Here is my fic Justitia's Hermes
