Finally! The *perfect* Chuck icon. (icon by [livejournal.com profile] ifoundwonder)

I have experienced "meh" and "so?" "WTFness" over the following episodes:

BSG: Escape Velocity - it had its moments but overall I didn't enjoy it at all

GG: Desperately Seeking Serena - although next week looks to make up for this one

Bones: every single episode since they came back from hiatus. WTF is wrong with Bones?

Smallville: Sleeper - only the dance scene which was very reminiscent of "True Lies" was fit to watch

I have experienced "wow that didn't suck as much as usual" with

SPN: Ghostfacers

And the elusive "OH! MY! GOD! THAT WAS SO FUCKING AWESOME I COULD DIE \o/\o/\o/" goes to:

Friday Night Lights: deleted scenes season 2. So *that's* where all the awesome went last season. I should have known. Seriously, with the exception of That Which Shall Not Be Named every issue I had with last season was resolved in those few minutes.

Smallville: Descent

Movies:

Leatherheads = meh

Forbidden Kingdom = fairy tale with martial arts, drunk Jackie Chan and monkey-king Jet Li. Much to like, not a lot to love.

Paris, je t'aime one of the best "films" I've ever seen.

I bought a laptop. \o/

Today is one of those days I may lose my bike in Spin class. I have running gear ready to go and am already pissed off about it.

It's Memaw's birthday. I guess I should stop not talking to her long enough to give her her present. I didn't buy her a card and I don't feel bad about it at all.

and ... that's everything.

Bones has been really fucked up post-strike. I'm going to give it until next season, to see if they recover after everything settles, but if it continues like this, not even the lure of Angela and Hodgkins is going to keep me. Brennan needs to be in the damned lab more, and everything just feels off, in weird ways.

Although David with the baby was adorable.

LAPTOP! What kind, tell me tell me!!

It's like the writers forgot every bit of character development they'd built over the past four years. Not to mention they forgot the on-going mystery. It's very, very frustrating. It's like early season 1 all the time.

this laptop was at my local Best Buy for 499.99 - I think it will satisfy my needs and it didn't break the bank

YAY GOOD! You got 2 gigs ram. If you'd got less, I would've been cranky (it's harder to replace laptop memory than desktop, because memory's pretty darned cheap right now)

It's expandable too, though I didn't take that option now. I may change my mind later. ::shrugs:: It's more powerful than my desktop which is a frightening thought.

I know! It's going to be like I have an all powerful magical super computer in my lap! I'll get confused and think I'm Rodney or something.

Nah.

Do you lose your bike if there are too many people for the number of bikes? We have a grand total of 6 bikes, so our instructors have ended up sitting or doing crazy calisthenics through our classes sometimes. I guess I should be glad my Y is at least too poor for drug and other stupid tests. It's not like I'm working with children, I'm usually the youngest one in class!

Drunk Jackie Chan is a wonderful thing, but I bet he did it better in Drunken Master II. And I keep meaning to see Paris, I heard it was a lovely movie. Yay, movies!

Also: new laptop! Awesome!

We've got 11 student bikes and a teaching bike. There's a sign up sheet for members and a five minute rule that if you're not there 5 min. before class someone who is but hasn't signed up gets your bike. The latest rule is instructors cannot take a spin class if there is a member who wants to spin and there aren't enough bikes. Even if they come to the class 30 minutes late. It infuriates me because if I'm not spinning outside of when I'm teaching I'm likely not going to have the breath to teach.

I haven't seen Drunken Master! He probably did do it better there. The Paris movie is *phenomenal*

I can't wait to get home and get my laptop going. I'll probably do that instead of run if I can't get a bike.

They made up for SOOOOO Much.

I just need to get a screen cap of the Tim & Landry hug of football jerseyness.

They really, really did. Especially small stuff like Lyla and her sudden re-born-ness, and her just dumping Santiago on Buddy. It's those little character moments like with Bobbie and Coach that were missing and made realism of the show disappear a bit last season.

And how AWESOME was Lois and Tim? I really wanted to see some more Jean, I hate she wasn't in those scenes.

I hate that there wasn't more Jean in the story. I love her.

And yeah, Lois and Tim.

No regrets? Given the way that Lois asked what Tim smelled like in the tornado episode, I think Lois has some. ;)

Like - when it was being funny it was good, but then it would try to be serious and it was boring. Definitely a wait til video thing.

They went on sale last week or the week before? All I've seen are the deleted scenes and they were WONDERFUL.

You bought it! Did you get the Compaq we were looking at? I'm so happy for you! Whee!

I have yet to watch the new Bones eps. They're on the DVR. Haven't watched BSG yet either as Chris watched it without me. WTF?

From: [identity profile] turnonmyheels.livejournal.com
I did not, it went back up to $799 - I got the "same" one without the number pad and the smaller screen for $549.

HE DID WHAT? Did you tell him we didn't watch it together so y'all could see it? BOO HISS.

I thought they had some thing where they'd match for 30 days or something. Huh. That sucks, but if you're happy with what you got, then it's all good. One nice thing about the smaller is if you take it with you on trips and stuff.

I did tell him I hadn't watched. The jerk. At least he didn't delete it from the DVR. I might watch it today during lunch.

I thought about what you said about travel, which really is one of the major reasons I bought and since the really big one wasn't on sale I went ahead and got it. Aside from the numeric key and really, when would I use that? I only spreadsheet from home on very rare occasion ease of travel was the kicker.

And remember that when you spreadsheet from home you can always use your desktop. Or you can buy one of the USB keypads to attach when you need it. I'm so excited for you. I want a new laptop. Mine will be two years old in July. But since I don't do much graphics work anymore, I don't really need "new and improved" yet. But I love to look.

Getting all the stupid stuff off of it is turning out to be a bigger pain in the ass than I thought it would be - mainly because I don't know what most of those programs on the install/uninstall page *are*. What if they're important? I started putting stuff on it that I needed and started the Birds of prey torrent last night.

I can't wait to see it! I also can't wait to get my external back from Clay.

One nice thing about being a business rewards customer at Best Buy is that for $50 they pulled all the junk off the computer and did all the Microsoft updates for me before I left the store. If there's something you're unsure about uninstalling, feel free to ask me.

Thanks - I'll look at it tonight and email you. It was about three times that for a casual customer, which frankly sucked. Things like IE weren't showing up on the program page when I know damn good and well they're there, so it's probably bundled under something else.
