turnonmyheels: (Avengers: Holy Trinity)

Avengers was everything I wanted it to be and then some. For the first time since Firefly/Serenity Joss didn't bore me with his issues, instead he told and directed an action packed, funny, well-characterized, and perfectly paced 2+ hour movie that I am ready to see again.

My favorite thing to come out of this is Tony and Bruce BFF for life. Don't get me wrong, I loved the end shot with Tony and Pepper but if they had ended it with Tony and Bruce driving off into the sunset together I would have been happy.

My absolute favorite part was when Hulk picked up Loki, smashed him around and said Puny God. Why can't we get a Hulk movie that amazing?

I hope they bring Coulson back. I hope he really is an android.

Now, fic me fandom! And can we concentrate way less on Tony/Steve and more on gen or any other pairing? Thanks!

Comics fans, any trades you would recommend? I'm particularly interested in Black Widow's back story or any Avengers run with this cast

My favorite thing to come out of this is Tony and Bruce BFF for life. Hee! Agreed.

Every time the audience would laugh (we saw it in a huge packed stadium theater, of course) I would grin like I had written it, haha. I might be a bit overly invested in Joss's quips. I would also laugh. I missed Hulk's "Puny God" line the audience was laughing so hard!

I loved it. I thought he did a great job setting up the characters for those unfamiliar with the comics/previous films, I thought the action shots were great (Hawkeye shooting the arrow casually over his shoulder and Loki catching an arrow were pure Joss) and the humor was perfectly timed (Thor's "He's adopted" was particularly well-timed). I just...loved it.

The theater I go to is never packed, it was probably only half full. Which is its the one I go to! Did you stay all the way to the end? There were two additional scenes one mid credit and one post. All but 5 other people in the theater left and didn't see it.

The quips were great, really great. I've always loved Joss's quips, and even better he didn't over do them. I really want Christopher Nolan to watch this movie and understand that's how you film action sequences, the man has a lot to learn.

It was awesome. so awesome

We didn't stay because we saw the 8:50 show and had to get home to relieve our sitter. Someone on my flist posted the post shot, though. Haha, Joss.

He really didn't over-do the humor and he got in a few moments of poignancy, too. Of course, hearing someone with RDJ's timing quip Joss's lines made it even better for me. Capt America: Take away the suit, and what are you? Iron Man: Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist...

Hah!

I have read a *lot* of Tony/Steve in the past few months and it has been seriously delightful, but yes, please, explore the other relationships.

My friend Jai wrote some Coulson gen here, and I think she might have more?

I, too, missed the "puny god" line for the laughter, but it was one of my favorite lines, too. And I saw the mid-trailer scene, but not the ending, it was late. So much fun, though! \o/

I loved Hulk smashing Loki. It was awesome. I may have gasped and said, "No! Not Phil!" in loud whisper voice.

I seriously want some smoking hot Black Widow/Hawkeye fic. Now.

As to comics... I did a quick search for Black Widow on torrentz.com yesterday and there appears to be an "Origins" series that I'm going to dl at some point. I also pulled her up on Wikipedia and it doesn't look like there's a lot of books that are just her or Hawkeye, but that they figure into other series. If you pull up their characters there you can get a lot of info on where to look for them.

Glad to hear there's an Origins series, I imagine most of her history would have to be gleaned from a LOT of titles. She seems like the kind of character that floats from book to book.

I loved the whole dang movie. Seriously, there wasn't a scene that fell flat for me.
