I have had a bad fucking night.

In my 5:30 Zumba class, I had a member have a terrible accident. She was in the back row, fell out, and dislocated her knee-cap. It wasn't a minor dislocation either. The ambulance came, I held the ice on her and kept her immobilized, her friend called her mom and took the kids out of the nursery, one of the other members in the class was a trauma nurse and she did that thing where spoke calmly and soothingly. The Y director was in the room, another Y employee stood at the door keeping the rubber-neckers out.

She said she'd had 3 children and never felt pain like that before. I'm afraid it's going to require surgery.

They're right about your first aid training, it really does kick in.


So then I come home, fix myself a great big gin and tonic and some chips and salsa and sit down to this

Oh, MAN! That sounds so horrible! I mean, there's nothing that can be done but to get her to the professional help, but UGH, such a bummer. Know that you were doing everything right, and you've Helped so many other people with their health <3.

Heh, yeah, thefourthvine has a post thanking comics for keeping her money in her purse (and ranting about how un-female-friendly comic book stores are). It sucks that so many favorites are gone!

I didn't see it happen. Some people were saying my name and I turned around and then she started screaming.

I have never in my life heard such a sound. It was awful, I feel so bad for her.

DC has *really* pissed me off. I see now why people break up with comics or call them their abusive boyfriend. And yes, generally speaking comic book stores are some of the most female unfriendly places in the world

I was really hoping there would be a few titles that would escape unscathed. It doesn't look like it. At this point it looks like the only books I read that will even exist is Batwoman [I'm not holding my breath on that since #1 has yet to come out] and Red Robin.
