Alas, another prime tv viewing season is more or less drawing to a close. But! Summer seasons will soon be underway. \o/ Rescue Me! Dark Blue! Burn Notice!

Season Report Cards:

Shows I managed to *finally* quit and by god there's nothing anyone can do to make me watch them again [unless Michael Rosenbaum comes back and even then I'm not so sure]
: Bones, Gossip Girl, Smallville Grade F

Shows I accidentally watched and would love to quit, but can't because the crack is too good: America's Next Top Model, Dancing With the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, Glee

Appointment TV: The Vampire Diaries A, Sons of Anarchy A, Friday Night Lights A, Dancing With the Stars B, Make it or Break It B-

Appointment DVR: The Good Wife B+, NCIS: Los Angeles B, Supernatural C+, America's Next Top Model D, Chuck B+, Dark Blue B-, Rescue Me B+, Spartacus B+, Life Unexpected B, Southland A

I'll watch it when I get around to it: Castle C, Leverage B-, Burn Notice B, Justified B, Secret Diary of a Call Girl B,

Shows I tried on and cast off like one of Tyra's nasty jumpsuits V, Melrose Place, White Collar, Merlin, Stargate Universe

Shows that no matter how hard I try, I just can't get into it [Dr. Who, True Blood] or cable fucks it up and makes it not worth trying [Fringe]

YOU SHOULD WATCH CHARADE AND SALVATION. I mean yeah, Smallville sucks a lot and I don't blame you for jumping ship, but these are pretty much the two best episodes the show has ever done, and it would be a shame for you to sit through 9 years of crap only to miss out on their finest two hours. (And I say that as someone who NEVER recommends Smallville to anyone. Wait though - do you like Clark, Lois and Clois? Because if you don't forget everything I just said.)

I do like Clark and Lois and them together and maybe someday I will watch those two episodes, but I don't think it will be anytime soon. To be fair, I only started watching weekly in season 5 so I haven't been on the hook too terribly long ...

See my most recent post as to why it is disappointing for me that you've never manged to get into Who. 'Cause if you were into it you would totally be finding and reccing DW/Iron Man fic and that would make my life easier. :)

I plan to give The Vampire Diaries a go at some point once I've caught up on other things. I think it'll make a good project while I'm waiting for Dexter, Californication and Weeds to start up again.

You're totally right. I've tried all three of the most recent Doctors but there's just something about the show that I can't even point to, that doesn't work for me.

:-(

The only episodes I've ever managed to watch and *enjoy* had Jack in them.

Of the shows we both watch, I completely concur with your grades!

In the last year or so I also managed to finally quite Bones and Smallville - so freeing! I also enjoy the crack of Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance! hahaha, and I also share your dislike of Merlin although so many other people on my flist love it - I just don't get the love.

I've been watching the first season of True Blood and don't totally love it, but am entertained enough to keep watching. I definitely don't get the OMG!Love that other people have though. I love Vampire Diaries way way more! Ooh, speaking of do you know any good comms for Vampire Diaries icons?

I've been searching out icons in batches rounded up from the newsletter [livejournal.com profile] tvdnewsletter it misses a *lot* of fiction but it's great with graphics and multi-media.

I really, really don't get why people like Merlin so much. I turn on True Blood and if I happen to look at it fine and if I don't fine. I don't get the love for that either, but it's not nearly as confusing as Merlin.

Getting rid of Bones and SV really made my TV experience a much happier place. I only wish I could have given them up sooner.

Ah cool, I'll check out the newsletter. It's probably okay for me about the fic because I'm *currently* not craving VD fic - haha, we'll see how long it is before I start eating up the fic with a spoon!

Yeah, I'm really confused by the Merlin love. It's kind of... really bad! I'm all for people having fun tv they enjoy but I wish that I at least understood the appeal! Ah well, at least we understand each other's dislike of it!

Omg, I know what you mean! I used to describe my relationship with SV as an abusive one because I'd start to wonder why I was watching when there'd be crappy episode after crappy episode and then there'd be a good one (normally because of Michael Rosenbaum) and I'd get sucked back in, and then the crappiness would continue. I felt so free giving up both SV and Bones!

I'm seriously craving post finale what happens next fic. LIKE CRAZY. One must be patient with these things.

MR was SV's saving grace. I stayed after Lex left but have been absolutely miserable 99.9% of the time. I'm glad to be free, but I do miss Justin Hartley's naked chest. BUT! That's what Ian Somerhalder and whatshisface Stefan are for!
