OMG WOW!!!!!!

They really hit it out of the park last night. I was elated from beginning to end. And at the end I was actually SURPRISED! And had to re-wind to see if Damon could tell it was Katherine and I think he knew something was up but couldn't tell if it was the vervain still in his system, turning the SWITCH ON, or just complete shock that Elena would have kissed him.

I can't WAIT for season 2 and looking forward to reading/writing fic all summer long

I really need to rewatch, especially the end there. I call her as Not!Elena once she moved into the kitchen but I totally didn't catch it at first.

I CANNOT wait for the fic. There's so much to work with and I am dying to see what people come up with.

I'm actually in the process of re-watching the season because, quite frankly, I was completely inebriated during the majority of the episodes!

I completely thought she was Elena until the knife went through the fingers because I convinced myself early on we wouldn't see Katherine in current time until season 2.

Yeah, I think I may need to do that. I was not inebriated, but there were a couple of eps that I interneted through and probably should have paid more attention. And I still haven't seen the one where Damon ate Mr. Tanner.

For some reason Nina's body language as she moved into the kitchen was just enough of a clue for me that she was not Elena but I could totally see how you could miss that. I'm sort of surprised that they decided to play that card this early, but the writers have made some really interesting choices in teh cards that they choose to play or not play. Like the whole "What is Tyler??" thing. I'm glad they've left that because this season was PACKED as it was but it shows an interesting restraint.

The pacing has been some of the best I've seen -- CW shows tend to suck ass with pacing either waaaaay too fast (gossip girl after season one) either too fast or too slow (supernatural) or seem to just throw any idea of any kind of storytelling to the wind and let fate have at it (smallville)

I hope TVD continues to deliver on pacing, it's so refreshing.

Me too, I was blown out of my seat with this season, I hope we get the same feeling with season 2!

Can't believe Katherine's actually back. I was sad when Anna died. Wonder what'll happen when the dopplegangers Katherine and Elena meet? I hope she didn't kill Jenna.

Me too. Hopefully Damon will figure it out or even Stefan. I wonder how long the writer's will wait until Katherine dies? And if they'll continue the Jenna/Alaric relationship?

I kind of get the feeling Jenna/Alaric got shoved to the back burner? But that may be because I'm all wrapped up with Damon and Alaric being drunk fighting buddies \o/
