Fannish things I *need* to say:

* Leverage is *awesome*. I'm all over Hardison. And Parker/Hardison is worlds of fun. Point me to some fic or communities please.

* I officially quit watching Nip/Tuck, Fringe, and something else. You can see how much it meant to me.

* Bones? You're about to be on my officially no longer watching list.

* BSG? I'm so glad it's the end. I've been over you for quite some time, but I am sticking it out until the very, very end.

* OH MY GOD Burn Notice is back \o/ I didn't think it was coming back until SUMMER

* GG: Blair? Grow up. Chuck? Cut your hair. Serena/Dan? get over yourselves and move the hell on.

* Season 3 of FNL was very nearly perfect. Please, please, please watch it on NBC.

* Smallville is better this year than it's been since ... Lex went crazy and was in Belle Reave.

* I LOVE Oz [the prison, not the werewolf, though I love the werewolf too]. I really, really do. I'm all the way to early season 4 right now. It's amazing. It's also lots of fun to play actor bingo. Just the other day I saw Sergeant Doakes and Minerva McGonagall. Fun times.

* I need a beta for a Sara Connor Chronicles fic. Any takers? It's not ready yet [read -- exists in my head and won't get near paper/screen until after I re-watch 3 eps] but it's got a deadline of February 14.

* I miss [livejournal.com profile] moosesal like jelly misses peanut butter when it's off with chocolate

* Gran Torino was an *excellent* movie. TBM and I are hitting My Bloody Valentine this weekend. TBM is worlds of awesome. I like him a little more every single time I see/talk to him.

* I don't miss LJ at work nearly as much as I thought I would. So long as I get occasional forays into it like right now.

Things I still need to do: post recs and spin mixes. Don't hold your breath.

I've been quite enjoying Bones this season, although I haven't seen the most recent episode. Is it particularly offensive or have you been over the show for a while?

I've been bordering on being over it for a while. I think the big problem with last night is that it was two sub-par episodes back to back billed as a Bones Event. I really feel like they've forgotten/sacrificed the basis of who Boothe and Brennan are for cheap laughs.

Yes, I do agree with that - the show was a quirky, often funny procedural drama before, now it just feels more like a daft comedy, and I must admit, Boreanaz comes across as a little too pleased with himself sometimes. I have no evidence of this but I get the feeling he's at least partly behind the change in tone.

It was better when the out and out laughs came from the squints. The entire tone of the show changed when David and Emily started getting producer credits. I *know* David was sick and tired of being brooding and self-flagellating, I *know* that he desperately wants more comedic opportunities, but fulfilling them on Bones isn't the way to go.

The first episode of the season when they were buffoons in London made me so angry I didn't watch again for several weeks.

Oh god I *hated* those episodes. They were painfully embarrassing. *shudders*

I *know* David was sick and tired of being brooding and self-flagellating, I *know* that he desperately wants more comedic opportunities, but fulfilling them on Bones isn't the way to go.

See I don't know. I think Booth has always been a funny character and I think DB's comedic acting chops have really shone since the beginning of Bones. To me it feels like he thinks the show's success is all down to him being wacky and hilarious, which is blatantly untrue. Besides which, he was MUCH funnier when he wasn't trying so hard.

He is tons funnier when he isn't trying so hard. I think it's the wackiness of the humor that's been turning me off so much. I hadn't actually looked at it from this perspective: To me it feels like he thinks the show's success is all down to him being wacky and hilarious, which is blatantly untrue

but now that you've mentioned it, I can see that.

I miss the quiet warmth Boothe and Brennan had in the first two seasons. Everything about their characters felt more substantial and grounded then.

Totally - there is a certain weirdly self satisfied vibe about the show now, and it makes it more difficult to care about the characters and what they're going through. I'm not hating it by any means, but I absolutely see where you're coming from, and it won't surprise me if I'm where you are at some point later in the season (or perhaps even after I've seen the two latest eps!).

I miss [livejournal.com profile] moosesal, too - I can only imagine it's much worse for her hetero life-mate! :D Glad you're not missing LJ too much at work - I'm gonna back now any minute :D. Yay for Gran Torino and TBM continuing to be a Good One. \o/

I don't know the canon, but I'm always happy to beta!

I must get back to it too, if they catch me I'll be in *trouble*

::sighs::

He's a GREAT one.

Thank you for the offer, as soon as I get my canon filled in putting the fic together shouldn't be difficult, but you'll have to beat me to death the red pen. I always deserve it.

Oz is still my number one show, man. (Well, that & DS9, but yes, it's just about damn near perfect.)

Oz is phenomenal. Truly. All the performances are stellar. I *want* to fall in love with one person and have them be my woobie, but the writer's won't let any single character become a woobie and that's WHY I LOVE it so much.

Where for is Sally? Did she run off with the milkman?

We're going to see Gran Torino tonight.

I see we feel very similarly about Leverage, Fringe, BURN NOTICE!!! and BSG. *sigh*

My S is finding herself, on a bus. Who would have thought? When she asked that a few weeks ago I reminded her that her favorite job to date had been delivering parts. Being on the road without idiotic co-workers to bring her down has been great for her.

GT is *hysterical* Clint Eastwood really brings it.

BURN NOTICE!!!!

Mind you, I haven't watched it yet, or last night's hot!ass but I can at any given time. \o/

Oh, OZ ... so very very much fun.

And yes, I'll be happy to beta an SCC story for you.

I really love how Oz doesn't pull punches. Not a single one. That's so refreshing.

Thank you for the beta offer, I'll definitely send it to you once I've got it ready to go.

Happy Friday!

I've downloaded a couple eps of Leverage, but I haven't gotten around to watching them yet. This makes me think I should make that more of a priority.

It's fun and easy, something I'm *really* into at the moment. Chuck, Burn Notice, Leverage. Funny, not too smart, and simple
