What she deserves--and this is more corrective therapy than punishment--is to be pulled out of that shark tank of a high school and sent to a nice, artsy, public school. Somewhere she could put that design talent to use and not feel like a freak for hailing from the upper-middle class.
Rufus is mostly to blame for this. If she's more artistic than academically gifted, unlike Dan, she has no business being in a school designed to funnel students into the Ivy League. If nothing else, she'd be better off in a good regular public school and taking occasional classes at the Fashion Institute.
