Dear Fast and Furious Franchise,
I have not forgotten you. I've watched all your trailers and even the behind the scenes on HBO. I will *finally, finally, finally* get to see Fast Five tomorrow \o/\o/\o/ followed by Thor, but frankly I don't really care about Thor in light of YOU
Or: thank you flist for keeping your FF commentary behind cuts, except for that one asshole at quarter mile. I'll be catching up with the rest of you sometime over the weekend.
Love,
B
Let's talk about The Good Wife? ok? ok.
We'll start with, why the HELL don't I have any icons? And then go behind the cut:
How is this show SO GOOD? I freely admit it's the only "adult" show I'm invested in, and frankly other than TVD I'm more invested in it than anything else.
When Alicia finally broke down and cried [however briefly] I lost it. And then when that bitch-ass Grace asked why Alicia wasn't protecting them more? I LOST IT AGAIN. I can't wait for the confrontation between Alicia and Kalinda, the preview I've seen gave me shivers.
It was great to see Patty Nyholm again, I was afraid with Martha Plimpton being on that other show that she wouldn't come back to TGW, glad to see that was worry for nothing! I would hate that woman in real life, but on TV? AWESOME.
Oh Cary. Your obsessive need to be better than Alicia is showing and it's *not* flattering. I get it, I do -- but letting both Will and Dianne see it? Immature at best and stupid at worst. Also? You should be shaking in your short-pants that Peter Florrick is now interested in you. He is a bastard of the nth degree and you are not a big enough boy [yet] to handle this without help. I hope Kalinda pities you enough to get you through it.
I wonder at times how Alicia wound up a Florrick, not because of Will/other romances but because it's so obvious that the Florrick's don't share the same values Alicia does. If Jackie was my mother in law I would have had to have slapped the bitch a couple hundred times. With both Peter and Jackie jumping on her about the separation I wanted to reach into the tv and hug Alicia and tell everyone around her what's what, because Alicia? Does not deserve this.
It doesn't matter to her [or me] that the affair with Kalinda was only once, in the past, and that she didn't ever know her then. It was the straw that broke the camel's back, Alicia could only take so much. I hate that it's [waiting for separation until after the election] going to look politically motivated when it was anything but, but with Eli on Alicia's side [if Eli could be on *anyone*'s side other than his own that is] that they'll get through it.
Speaking of Eli? BEST NEWS EVER. Alan Cummings signed a 3 year contract with the show!!!
::throws confetti::
Eli and Alicia's interaction has become one of my favorite things. He gets her in a way that no one else does. From the beginning everyone has looked at Alicia kind of side-ways, you can tell they don't understand why she stayed or how she's kept it together or why she took him back. It shows you how contained Alicia is. How close she plays everything. Eli keeps everything that close too, everyone else has pitied Alicia or thought poorly of her for being 'the good wife' or has tried to manipulate her into being something/one that she isn't.
Everyone but Eli that is, because although their motivations are very different they think alike. He's the only one that sees her as she is instead of through a lens of their own pre-conceptions. I want them to have so much more screen time.
Christ almighty. I think I just sold myself on them as a pairing, and I don't even SHIP
I'd ramble more but I've got to do actual work.
ONE MORE THING
I despise how certain characters are *convinced* that Alicia has had/is having an affair with Will. The idea that she would do something like that after how she's been hurt by the same thing? Makes me see red. Or: some days I really want to slap Peter and Cary and all those other people that look at my current favorite BAMF askance
I have icons now. I wish I had more.
