To quote a friend I had dinner with Friday night, "You have no idea what I can do, do you?" She related that to me anecdotally. Someone had suggested to her she could not complete a task in the time span allotted, she could.
My weekend looked like this:
* Friday work all day, teach spin class. I didn't ride in spin class because I wasn't feeling well, also see: was it too much dairy or too much fiber or a little bit of both?, stress makes my back hurt, and Hello! Tendinitis, How are you today?
* Had dinner with Shelia
* Went to Wal-Mart and bought provisions for my volunteers
Saturday:
* Clean the home where I'm living enough that I'm not ashamed to call it home
* Take a load of crap to the dump
* Teach Zumba
* Prepare the house to be painted Sunday [for the record, I didn't get home Saturday until after 7, yes, it was a 12 hour day. Can I have my Saturday back please?]
Sunday:
* Get all provisions to house, set up breakfast, get the painters painting, and paint. Clean up after everyone left so that when (if???) Moe ever returns from parts unknown he won't turn around and walk out. For the record, Sunday was also a 12 hour day. Can I have my Sunday back please?
It's almost true Spring and I have pictorial evidence with flowers planted by my own hands [this has never happened before]

Steve from the paint store, Heather, and Larry came to paint. V&C came by noonish and completed the entire list I had for Non-Painters. SO MUCH WAS ACCOMPLISHED OMGOMG.
Steve being in the paint business took on the task of the "common areas". He did the living/great room, dining room, red wall, and hallway. He would have done the kitchen too but there's a wee bit more work to do in there before it can be finished.
This is Steve's work in Ben Moore colors: Autumn Waves and Neon Red

This is how it will look with my floor:

Larry painted my bedroom:

I started painting in the Laundry room. It quickly became apparent -- beyond the blindingly bad priming job I had completed the day before, that I am NOT someone who can roll. After I had finished the laundry and was doing the second coat the lap marks were getting to me. Heather had just finished priming what was left to be primed, so I gave her the roller and I started doing the trimming/edging/cutting in in the office. Between the two of us we did the laundry, office, and both bathrooms
Laundry, turned sideways, this is also the color my trim paint will be. Ben Moore Sugar Cookie

Office this is a color I found in the mis-tints. It's Ben Moore Pashmina. I thought it was going to be lighter than my bedroom, but it is not. When I get the screen built/painted and get my geekery in here, it won't matter that it's a bit darker than I had anticipated.
Also, when you pay $5/gallon for paint instead of the $25 - $65? You take what colors are there and smile

This is the downstairs bathroom, it turned out to be the color of make-up/foundation back in the 70s. Once again, $5 paint. Darker than the spot on the lid showed and also Not what I would have chosen given a fan deck and someone else's wallet. HOWEVER -- all of my bathroom accessories are going to work *beautifully* in here. It will be classic possibly even sophisticated when I am through.

I already showed you the gray bedroom upstairs, the loft room is plain white because it has no windows, and the small bedroom is also plain white because it too is a very dark room [it could stand to have an extra window]. The bathroom, once again painted in something from the mis-tint pile is AGAIN a color I NEVER would have selected. HOWEVER it will Work and it will be Awesome. This is Ben Moore: Hawthorne Beige

One thing to note, the lighting and my lack of photography skill does not nothing to make this appear as nice as it is person.
Still to be painted: kitchen, second coat in stairwell, the actual stairs, second coat in upstairs bath, all trim. BUT the floor installers can proceed now and I can go AWAY for the weekend with V&C and play.
