These are all *opinions* keep in mind assholes/smell/opinions, yadda yadda

1) John McClane does not have sex with men. Period, end of discussion. I'm one of the biggest slashers on the block but I cannot and will not believe or fantasize about this. Now, I'm sure Bruce, Demi, and Ashton have some sort of wacky sexual hijinks going on, but NOT John McClane.

2) I find the following actors to be hideously unattractive: Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, Dan Radcliffe, Eric Bana, Jared Padalecki, Josh Hartnett, Toby McGuire, David Tennant, David Hewlitt, Shia Lebeuf (sp?), Ben Affleck, Christian Bale

3) John Barrowman can't act. That doesn't mean that he doesn't embody Capt. Jack, because he does but he can't act his way out of a paper bag.

4) Dr. Who is terrible.

5) Jensen Ackles has played the same role on every show he's done. So has James Marsters. Think about that.

6) Joss Whedon is doomed to fail, much like Buffy is doomed to be alone. He's bought into his own press and thinks he's a god. The whole giving the audience what it needs instead of what it wants has destroyed any main stream career he could possibly have.

7) Speaking of Joss, Buffy should have ended with The Gift, Spike should have stayed off of Angel and Joyce Summers was a bad mother.

8) Supernatural sucks. Sam and Dean aren't fucking. Bobby is the lamest, laziest plot device in the history of lame/lazy plot devices. The scripts are terrible, the acting isn't strong enough to sell the scripts, the only thing that is half way decent most of the time is the soundtrack, but then they went and used Queensryche, so I can't even say that any more.

Don't get me started on the fans.

9) BSG *could* have been the best show in the history of tv. And then, everything went to hell. I'm still watching but with every episode I hate it more and more. IMO it went to hell immediately after D'Anna was boxed. Lee is a giant, whiny pussy, with the exception of the last episode. He really stepped up there.

10) I'm tired of wank. I'm tired of people perpetuating it for their own small-minded entertainment. I'm tired that it's about the same issues over and over. Ignorance and prejudice are part and parcel of the human condition. Am I advocating it? No. Do I think that it shouldn't be pointed out when people are assholes? No. But I *do* think it's more important speak out against sexism, racism, homophobia, and people's right to privacy in the real world instead of getting all up in arms on LJ.

Turn off the computer, go volunteer for PFLAG. Quit tracking IP addresses and volunteer at a shelter for battered women. Stop taking screen caps and write a letter to your Congress(wo)man.

Quit pointing out where other people are wrong, and do something that's actually productive. Like me, I'm going to go do what I actually get paid for now.


For the record: I love Torchwood and Jack. I fully intend to watch Dollhouse though I expect it to fail. I still watch SPN but only because JA is pretty. There's no way I'm not going to watch the end of BSG

I think for some of those guys it's the hair. I often hear myself saying OB and TM should wash their hair. And EW and DR could be twins IMO. Both of them are skeevy, creepy, looking little dudes that give me shudders. SHUDDERS.

and yet i'll keep watching. i don't know why, because i'm not at all optimistic that it'll get better. i know it won't. but there'll be this or that OMG SHINING MOMENT that'll slap me around with how excellent j2 can be when they have quality material to work with. like when jared is given comedy. or when jensen gets to completely freak out over something that makes no sense. it's almost not enough to keep watching... and then it is.

Dude, ever since I've seen the first mention of John McClane slash, I've been squicked as all hell. I just don't get how ANYONE looks at John, in any of the movies, and thinks, 'oh, yeah, there goes a guy that likes to suck cock.'

It squicks me too. I went off on this when Sally was here in April and she laughed and laughed at how upset I was about people slashing John. I even saw a fic somewhere that had John/his daughter and I had to turn off the computer and step away, because NO NO A THOUSAND MILLION FUCKING TIMES NO.

Now, I've got no trouble believing John can't get it up without medical help or an extra long hand/blow job. But he doesn't fuck men, his daughter (or his son, there is a son isn't there?), and he really still loves Holly and will until he's dead and buried.

The really wonderful thing about the people on my flist, is they can come into this post and say, I don't agree with this, or a lot of this, or even most of this, and THAT'S ENOUGH. No one is trying to change any one's mind. We can agree to disagree and celebrate the things we disagree with.

1) Give me a big ho-yay on that. He really wouldn't even bother to glance at one long enough to shoot them if they'd QUIT BEING TERRORISTS

I can back 11/12 of your list of ew in #2, in fact I have a HUGE Toby McGuire squick. You're wrong about Jared, but that's ok, I love you anyway. ;)

I kinda disagree about Jensen playing the same role. I think Alec was a departure from Eric Brady, who was very different from Eddie G who was different from Jason Teague who was different from Jake Gray who was different from Max Morgan who was different from Dean who was different from Priestly (from the clips and reviews I've sen and read re: Priestly). And I am going to stop my listing of Jensen's roles because it's just disturbing me that I listed that all off the cuff.

I totally agree with #6, and have discussed this at great lengths with people that have probably wanted me to SHUT UP. I have hopes for The Dollhouse, because I'd love to have Eliza back on my TV, but I saw the teaser thing and I don't know... could easily go either way.

Oddly enough, I have a voices thing too. Which is why I can't listen to Jensen's RL girlfriend (girl in my icon) speak. She does this weird Elmo-y voice thing that I assume is to kill the Louisiana in her voice and I JUST CAN'T COPE.

I can't even explain my TM squick, it starts with his hair, he looks *greasy* all the time (so does OB) and he just ICKS me. And I can't help I think JP looks like a victim of bad plastic surgery. It doesn't even make sense to me. I like when his shirt is off though ;-)

I think that all of Jensen's characters (I've only seen Eric, Jason, Alec, and Dean) are essentially the same basic character. They've been infused with minor differences, but he's been seriously type cast at this point.

I desperately want dollhouse to succeed, but I don't think it will. Do you have a link for the teaser?

I must say I find some of the 'Confidentials' lolarious because they'll be all 'Barrowman conveys the pathos of the situation so well' *flash of Barrowman making catchall emo!face* and then five minutes later 'the humour in this scene is great' *flash of Barrowman making THE SAME FACE*.

Yes! That's it! Both are greasy looking. I have a really hard time watching Spiderman (in fact I've only seen the first and the third, the first is where I realized my squick so I skipped the second, but had to watch the third for James Franco and Topher Grace.)

I definitely think he's being typecast genre-wise, but from the performances I've watched (all but Ten Inch Hero and My Bloody Valentine) I see vast distinctions w/ minor similarities, but y'know, mileage varies and all that. (although I will admit that for awhile he was rockin' the incest vibe WAY heavy with multiple characters). *shrug*

1)...People do this? What is wrong with people? I mean I can spot 'teh gay' when I see it and am usually right. Lance Bass...Doogie Howser...Vin Diesel. But Die Hard man? Not even remotely.

I confess that I don't know who half of these guys are but given my orientation (I hate that word but I can spell it) that is not suprising. I did have a convo recently though that Hollywood men these days just ain't what they used to be. I mean seriously, they either all are interchangeable or so everyguy that it's become boring.
