I have a strong preference for fics that slide seamlessly into canon. Missing scenes, secondary characters reacting to the main plot, fill in the blanks, and backstory.
I'm really, *really* big on backstory.
I love: strong female characters, strong male characters, dialog, dark fic, humor if it's appropriate, porn if it's appropriate but not porn for porn's sake, gen, het, slash, femmeslash, humor, and domestic every day situations. Did I mention I'm into crack!fic? Cause I am. Seriously. Down. With. the. Crack.
I hate: feminization of male characters, OOC, unrealistic sex, character bashing. You know, the usual Yuletide list.
If you got me for Sons of Anarchy seriously, anything you write featuring either Tara or Tig would be awesome. Don't freak out if you can't "go there". Same with Gemma's backstory, if it's too much to ask for I get it. I really do. Just give me the characters being their usual awesome [and deeply flawed] selves and I'll be ecstatic.
If you got me for Make It or Break It just know that Emily is my favorite and I would love anything about her. Gymnastics, family, a childhood story of her on the playground. ANYTHING
If you got me for NCIS-LA and you don't know a thing about Chuck - a fic where Kensi is being her usual kick ass self is all I need.
If you got me for Vampire Diaries - please, Courtly Love fic is really where my heart is. Don't get me wrong, Damon/Elena/Stefan would be awesome, but I don't want them together I want how they get together. And I want it to span years and years. They've got to build up trust between them. Damon and Stefan have to work out their issues and Elena really has to forgive Damon.
Once again if the scope is too vast or you can't behind Damon + Courtly Love. I get it, I do. Take Vamp!Caroline out of the box and give her some adventures in or out of Mystic Falls. Distant future or just how hard it is to be dead and still in high school. Go nuts.
