Episode reaction in double drabble format - Gemma POV

She's spun out of control, turning the wheel in the direction of the skid to straighten out the course. It's too late. The bike's turning over and all she can do is yank it as hard as she can in the other direction. Tried and true manners fail leaving skid marks and wreckage behind.

The weight of the cross is barely noticeable. The candles warm her soul when she lights them and kneels and prays for what's hers. It's the judging gaze that weighs, remembering her impiety. Balancing sins: hers, his, theirs, with the sincerity of her prayer.

****

There's been a storm coming for a while now, building in warehouses, insidious and hidden like that goddamn bomb. It's ugly and rotten and lying in wait, like a cancer dragging you down when you least expect it. Stabbing you in the back. Mother's (wive's) brains blown to bits.

It's her job to protect her family by any means necessary. But like a bird pushing a chick out of the nest too young, her timing was off. She waited too long to reveal her wounds, protected no one. Everything imploded.

This storm's going to rain down death and destruction on them all.

Nice. I loved the silence of that scene last night. There was just the perfect weight to everything. I need to rewatch to really absorb it all.

During the entire episode I was squealling with glee and uttering, "OMG! She HAS to tell them now!" Which seems like an odd thing, but...

1. If she's going to ever REALLY heal, she HAS to tell those she loves.
2. I want Jax and Clay to fuck up(read: KILL) Zobel and his cronies so hard that God won't even recognize them.

Seriously, if Katey doesn't win a goddamn Emmy something's fucked in Hollywood.

I mean, the way they played it--her so quiet and calm about it all, and Jax and Clay just...reacting in silence until Jax's table pounding. My god, I just sobbed. SOBBED.

minor quibble: I really really really hated the music that went along with the final scenes. I think it really subtracted from the power of Gemma's revelation--mostly because it was too goddamn loud.

The entire episode [season really] has been a fist punch to the face. All intensity, all epic EPICNESS. And that last scene was so strong and quiet [yes, music too loud] and so unghmhfgh.
