Always fun to hear your ST reactions! We're gradually making our way through the episodes as well (re-watch for the umpteenth time for Mr. Nous; occasional re-watch or first-watching of them for me).
Spock and Kirk's best-friendedness is a gorgeous thing to behold -- how many times so far just in season 1 that Kirk sends the most minor of signals to Spock and Spock immediately understands the boatload of significance of what Kirk's trying to say!!!
