An email from the man selling me my house:

Thursday is get up the carpet day! I will take the carpet out on the
first floor only, it needs to go. The upstairs carpet is in pretty good
shape! You might want to keep it. The basement is cleaned out and ready
for a good scrubbing, which I plan to do Friday. I was able to mow most
of the yard last Saturday morning after I got off work. I will weed eat
and finish mowing next week. Wow, the grass was high in places! There
were many signs of mice along the walls, so Terminix will need to hit it
hard, but, I didn't get any fleas and I spent many days last week taking
2.5 tons of junk to the dump. Yeah, I got the weight reciepts to prove
it!
The house looks much better, I will probably hire someone to come in and
clean the walls and windows. I will also install the new dead-bolt on the
front door. It is coming around nicely, I hope you will be pleased. It
will probably be after closing before I am able to re-grade the drive and
parking area out back, I have sprayed round-up on all the weeds so they
should be dead now. Thanks for keeping in touch.

2.5 TONS of garbage left behind. That is seriously mind boggling. The other mind boggling part is how is it every time I go over there I'm covered in fleas and he didn't get ANY on him? I suppose I'll be ripping up carpet this weekend or next.

I enjoyed SoA last night. Well, I always enjoy SoA, but I especially loved it last night due to the ladies. Gemma and Tara were on *fire* last night. When Tara wrangled that wheelchair out from behind the boxes and screamed at Jax, I just helped your mother kill somebody. Is that old lady enough for you? I nearly died.

Gemma having a heart attack (?) was SO shocking OMG.

So. I have a thing for short stocky men. Scott Caan always to be affectionately called "Tweeter" by me due his Awesome, Amazing, Funny, And Skankily Sexy roll as "Tweeter" on Varsity Blues is like, my A#1 short, stocky, Hollywood crush. So I've watched Hawaii 5-0 for him. You guys, aside from Tweeter being very cute but not enough like Tweeter to make me happy, and the scenery? I've been bored with the show. Also, Grace Park's super willowy figure is distracting me. She looks as thin as Ally McBeal did and it makes me worry for her poor bones. [Bone density is something that occupies my thoughts more than it should]. And the lead guy? Has less charisma than Not-Tweeter's kid's stuffed bunny. Gavin Park looks good though ...

It seriously needed it. That's 2.5 tons of left behind furniture, clothes, toys, and just plain garbage. Even having seen it first hand? I still can't grasp it.

Ok, I had to only read part of your post cuz I haven't watched SoA yet but I think I missed something about the house. Is there a massive list of things the seller has to do before you will close on the place? If I missed a 'splainy post can you redirect me? I'm so out of the loop. Also, 2.5 TONS of garbage??? What?

There's no official list, just some things that he told me he would do verbally. I mainly posted the letter so y'all could see 2.5 TONS OF GARBAGE.

That's an amazing amount of stuff for them to just leave and for him to have to throw out.

It's mind boggling. I knew it was excessive mainly due to all the toys and furniture she left behind, but 2.5 tons?

And that's not counting the carpet he's still pulling out.

God, what a pain!! It's so great he's doing all this. Think if you got it as-is!! Wishing you SO much luck with your renovations!

Fortunately for me, getting the house into the shape it was in before the tenants moved into it is the owner's idea of "as is"
