Regarding Kings: Wow, Eragon's all grown up and looks so much like Heather Ledger did in First Knight that I was distracted and couldn't remember he *wasn't* HL. Also? Eragon and Said? Hot like WHOA. Carter Baizon's expression in his final shot looked so much like an expression my stalker used to have when he was pissed off [when *wasn't* he pissed off?] that I dreamed about the stalker last night.

Verdict: unsure

Regarding Dollhouse: Still enjoying despite the fact that I feel a major disconnect with everyone in the Dollhouse except the Dolls, Dr. Saunders, and Boyd. Still ecstatic Tahmoh is on the show [could anyone give me a phonetic spelling of how to say his name?]

Verdict: being entertained

Regarding The Sarah Connor Chronicles: I used to talk all about how BSG was the greatest show on TV. Then I talked all about how FNL was the greatest show on TV. NOW I'm all about how SCC is the greatest SCI-FI show on TV [sorry, my loyalty to FNL is too strong]. HOLY SHIT SCC is AMAZING. The acting, writing, directing, filming, it's PHENOMENAL.

Verdict: Favorite Fucking Show

Regarding BSG: I'm like, 2 episodes behind and don't give a frak about any of it.

Verdict: Will watch to the boring bitter end.

Regarding Gossip Girl: The *only* reason I watch the damn show anymore is because of Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick. LM's performance this week was pitch perfect. She has more charisma in one flick of her eyelash than any other young actress on a teen show right now. <-- see how I oh-so-or-not-cleverly couched that? Ed's not so nuanced, he's big and explosive and in your face much like JM was as Spike.

Verdict: Will watch till the end of the season and probably not beyond that

Regarding FNL: ::draws hearts and prays and begs and hopes and crosses fingers that the rumor about it being picked up for TWO MORE seasons is true::

It's a B! *draws hearts all around you*

That was the actor from Eragon? My my, he has grown. And yes, he looked exactly like a younger Heath Ledger. It was incredibly distracting, and not necessarily in a good way. And meh on the crazy stalker flashbacks, that is not good :(

How can I be fannish about a show that I am honestly unsure of, myself? They have the potentially to royally muck this one up, and while I liked the pilot, it's a pilot. Full of all the gaffs and confusions a pilot always has, as it gets the most information out as possible to set the stage for the series. That, and the effing close ups. I do not need to see not-HL's pores! Really!

But. Still probably fannish about it. Oh god.

I think Dollhouse is going to get different on Friday and I, for one, am kinda excited about it. Joss said this was the ep he liked most, and it certainly looked more Jossian from the previews (not that I trust fox and its editing team, though).

I have to catch up on everything. Everything! This is what happens when I don't bike for a week. I don't watch my regular shows, as I am saving them for biking, which means I am sooooooooo behiiiiiiiiiiiiind.

But I have my bike back! And it rattles less than it did when I *bought* it, which tells me the part was probably faulty from the get go. And it's starting to slooooooooooooooowly work again! (have lost five pounds in the last month. Halfway to goal of Where I Was Before!)

Random LC is Random.

Hey there babe!!!!!

At the moment the only possible reason I would consider tuning into Kings again is because of the Reverend. The actor, whose name I do not know, is so charismatic and strong and his chemistry with young Davis is probably NOT what the producers intended. Or is it?

~.^

I too, think Dollhouse is going to change on Friday and I'm really looking forward to it. Of course, I've been enjoying it all along, but I'm a lot more forgiving of Sci-Fi type shows then I am other genres.

YAY fixed bike! That is SERIOUSLY awesome news. And yes if it rattles less now, there was surely something wrong initially.

LC is NOT random.

[identity profile] ladycat777.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 01:49 pm (UTC)(link)
The Reverend was, in fact, the best part of the whole thing for me. The actor is amazing (I am having a day with names so I forget his, pretty much the only names I remember are David and Jackathan, but they're easy and, well, I knew them already *g*) and I like the fact that he manages to make what should be a religious utterance into a moral one. That reassures me greatly (Jewish stories do not, historically, do well (not necessarily in a rating's sense) on tv. Mostly because they're written by Christians who don't understand what they're actually about. Ten Commandments of Horror I am looking at your antisemitic awfulness.) Plus, he's wry and witty and awesome. Very awesome.

I want more of him, please.

I've really enjoyed Dollhouse. I think you and I are in a minority about that, and as much as I'm anticipating the change it's mostly because Joss is good with that, not because I think things actually need to be changed (although the story is clearly gearing up for one; am totally okay with that).

And yes if it rattles less now, there was surely something wrong initially.

Yeah. I mean, it lasted a year and a half so it wasn't broken and my fat ass did still break it, but it was less my fault and more a stressor that would've happened to someone not fat, too. That makes me feel better :)

LC is always random. Also, there are way too many LC's in my life. Mostly because there are at least three acronyms at work that are LC and it's confusing!

[identity profile] turnonmyheels.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 02:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, it was his moral message that got me as well. I loved how the queen was all, I hope he doesn't talk about god, it's out of style. Out of style, god may be, but being moral will never be tout of style.

Yes, you and I are on the minority of that, sometimes I think people do not watch tv to be entertained but for some other more ephemeral reason I will never understand. I don't think it needs to CHANGE but I'm eager for the plot twist all the same.

When I broke my brand spanking new chair at work I was mortified. MORTIFIED. I sat down and scooted to the side and the fucking wheel fell off. Things are not being made as well as they used to be anymore. I see product failure in everything, especially things that *shouldn't* like staples and paperclips!

I'm pretty shamefully hooked on Dollhouse. I think I just really want to see where they go with it, even if I'm not convinced I'll find it satisfactory.

From tv.com:

Tahmoh Penikett: (How to pronounce his name) I'll tell you how to pronounce my name. It's Tah - Môh, that's the proper pronunciation, Tah - Môh. And last name of course is just Penikett; that's an easy one

Haven't seen the latest Gossip Girl, but I'm with you. I'll almost certainly be giving it up after this season.

You're making me want to watch SCC, even though the pilot did nothing for me.

[identity profile] turnonmyheels.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 02:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh, that's how I was saying it in my head. I suppose it's such an *unusual* name that I just thought it was wrong.

It's the pacing that really pisses me off about GG. Why does every single solitary thing that could develop into something special have to resolved and gotten rid of in 28 minutes? At the end of last season I was convinced it was the writer's strike, now I just know that they suck. LM was so beautiful this week and heart-wrenching, Blair's about to enter a downward spiral and even though I know it'll be resolved in half an episode I'm going pretend it lasts at least a quarter of a season.

There's something about SCC -- I loved it from the beginning, but when the introduce the character Derek Reece and he becomes a regular the show changes dramatically. He *really* does something for the entire tone. It's not just him though. It's because the show is so complex. There's a story line running with a set of characters who have mostly interacted [with the Connor storyline] tangentially. There are multiple future storylines. There's the terminator. There's Sarah who has her own story too, and then there's John. Everything always comes back to John and watching it weave and fold around itself is a LOT of fun.

Everyone who watches SCC raves about how smart and well made it is, so I think I will definitely give it another try. I have a feeling it will win me over.

All the conflict in GG is horribly contrived, and the characters generally don't behave like human beings. I don't care that the GG universe is totally unrealistic (I used to love that!), but I DO care that the characters act in ways that make no sense. I hate that the plot is driven half the time by characters not talking to each other, even though the conflict would be instantly resolved if they did -- this tells me one thing: the storyline is a piece of shit. That's not real conflict, that's weak-ass storytelling, and just plain bad writing. I hate it when writers have to make the characters act like complete and utter morons in order to tell their story. Ultimately, it's the awful writing on GG that has turned me off show, so unless they hire a brand new writing team for S3 I'm outtie. Hell, I only have 3 GG icons left, which says it all.

Yes, I could live with the fact that I can't stand 3 of the main characters, if only they had a STORY to tell.

stupid show.

How's season 2 VM going?

You mean season 3? I haven't started it yet - I'm waiting until I've downloaded them all, then I'll burn them onto a disc, then I'll probably do what I did last time: get some weed and spend the weekend doing nothing but watching VM. :D

I didn't realized you'd finished two! Or if I did, I'd forgotten it. Sounds like a very fun weekend.

When SCC is in top form there is no better show.

And yes, fingers, toes, arms, and legs are crossed for two more seasons of FNL

[identity profile] turnonmyheels.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
There really isn't and it's been in FINE form the past 3 episodes

I love T:SCC so very, very much that its not even funny. It's getting to the point where I'm close to stopping people in the streets to preach to them about the glories of T:SCC.

[identity profile] turnonmyheels.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
;-)

T:SCC has brought about the GLORIOUS return of Sci-fi Friday, just on another network.
