Just watched the SoA finale.
That was some sick, brutal, and twisted shit.

I can't help but wonder how much of the Clay for Tara swap Jax and Gemma had planned together. I certainly didn't see Jax solving all the problems with one fell swoop the way he did ... And at this point, looking back on the season, there was a scene early on that went something like this:
gemma: I shouldn't have done what I did with you after your dad died.
jax: I think sometimes I was glad he was gone because that meant I got you all to myself.
That scene stood out at the time because it was the first time either of them had ever acknowledged their co-dependency. It stands out even more considering the framing tableau at the end mirrored last season finale where Tara stood behind Jax and he held her hand.
Nero and Jax started the season wanting the same thing: out
Neither of them appear to want out now.
Gemma *never* wanted out. And now she has the four things she loves most all to herself:
Jax
Able + [JT <-- you'll notice both Jax and Gemma both interact more with Able than they do JT]
Samcrow
Nero
... and Wayne. She's still got Wayne. And Chucky. And it looked like she was going to eat Juice alive right after they took Clay off in cuffs. <-- I think I'll write that
I'm assuming we'll see Clay's murder. It's supposed to be before his hearing. Bailing hearing I presume. It'll assuredly be gruesome. I could have REALLY done without Otto biting off his own tongue.
It's going to take a lot for me to believe that Jax is going to want Tara out of prison. I think he's going to do everything he can to make sure she serves every minute of that time without looking like that's what he's doing.
Yes, him shooting Tara up like that is essentially what brought all this on.

Dude. That finale was fucking amazing. My jaw hit the floor when Otto BIT OFF HIS MOTHERFUCKING TONGUE and pretty much stayed on the floor the rest of the episode. I suspected that Jax had something up his sleeve when he made a comment to Pope's #2 about being patient but I never expected it to play out the way it did.
And yeah, he didn't look too broken up when Tara was being hauled off to jail. :\
The scary thing? For what little Nero seems to be keeping both Jax and Gemma grounded, what if he wasn't in the picture? And now that he's back to his old ways, who's to say what sort of influence he'll be now?
I need the next season NOW.

My heart raced from the moment your jaw hit the floor. I actually had to stop for a minute or two right in the middle and calm the hell down.
I could barely sleep last night. Episode before the finale Jax gave Tara the "beautiful life" speech and I really and truly believe he meant it. I REALLY do. But he saw the paperwork and asked if she was punishing him [holy god, that was gemma speaking through him] and I can't help but think that he made the deal with Gemma. I think he hates Clay more than he loves Tara.
Parallels:
Jax is now Clay
Nero is ... John? Something new that we haven't seen? ITA with you about the influence he will have on Jax and Gemma both next season.
Gemma is Gemma
I expect Chibs to become VP now that Bobby has turned in his patch [which means Bobby is *Jax* as Jax is the only one we've seen turn in a patch. Makes me wonder if Bobby's going to make a play for Jax ]
Tiggy got a dog! Tiggy *is* a dog, Jax made it very clear he thinks of Tig that way. Tig, obviously likes
dogs more than people and is good with that. I expect him to become Sgt. at Arms
I got nothing for Juice. I think Jax has legitimately forgiven him. But Chibs and Bobby at least know the deal and I don't think either of them are going to let him forget it. Though I do think they'll change the by-law that made it possible.
And this leaves Tara as Otto. And frankly? Tara isn't going to stick up for the club in prison the way Otto has. I could have killed Gemma when she made that comment about fist raping.
