Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] dancetomato

Once again Victoria's secret has discontinued the only fucking bra in the world that fits me. Bio-fit bras now have a specially textured inner cup to make the bra stay in place. It feels disgusting against my skin.

Fie upon thee

ETAIf you have bra suggestions, here are my requirements. There are other far more well-endowed ladies in the comments who will take recommendations as well. Victoria's Secret has not just discontinued my preferred Bio-Fit but also the Incredible Line The problem with my size [36B] is manufacturer's assume I want enough padding to look a cup bigger AND that I want it pushed up to my nose. I don't want either of these things actually. I want a bra where: * the cup fits -- sounds simple but it's a problem for me, A's are all too small. A lot B's are too big, I nearly always have to buy a demi-cup to get the right fit for my breasts * the cup is *lined* so my nipples don't poke out * The straps are about 1/4 inch wide, any narrower and they cut into my skin, any wider and it's over-kill and shows under my v-neck t-shirts * under-wire * the elastic in the straps and band don't wear in 3 months. Maybe I need to write a letter to all bra makers every where.

Too bad you're not a 36C. I still have those two biofit bras just sitting on top of my dresser. *sigh*

Why would they put texture inside the cup? Does the cup not stay in place for people? I have problems with bands and straps slipping -- put some grippy stuff there. But in the cup? Weird.

Last time I bought bras I made a comment to the salesgirl about loving the Incredible for the elastic straps and that they'd probably discontinue it because I like it so much. She said when they discontinue that bra she'll quit.

Wow, that bra interior sounds slimy and awful. D:

WHY does that happen??? I will buy a VS bra and it will fit like heaven, I go back to get another and it's been discontinued. Buy what is suggested as its replacement and it's not the same thing at all. I've also found it impossible to find a t-shirt bra (lightly padded) in a DD that my boobs don't go climbing out of. WHY.

I'm wishing you happier over-the-shoulder-boulder shopping!

I am all a-squee because Essene took me to see the engagement ring she designed. It's going to be gorgeous. It's been a great bday and I'm so grateful for your bday wishes!

Have you tried any of the Elle Macpherson bras? There are several lined styles, and the cups typically fit a variety of breast shapes. The bands definitely go by the "over-bust" measurement, not by the measurement of your ribcage below your breasts, just FYI. There are a lot of demi-cup styles also ("Cup Cake" is one of my faves, although it's not lined).

Other than that, I really like the DKNY brand, which is available at Nordstrom's online. They're a little less pricey than the Elle Macphersons, and also very pretty.

We really kind of have opposite issues, though - it's so funny! I just had to replace all my bras, because I can't have any underwires lying flat against against my cleavage area any more. In other words, I can no longer wear a bra that actually fits properly, because if I do, it'll crush the little grafts in that area (and hurts like a bitch!!). And inevitably, even though I'm the exact same band & cup as I was when I was 20 lbs heavier, those bras all *fit*, so I can't wear them.

After driving myself and God knows how many store clerks insane for more time than I care to think about, I completely fell for the VS Dream Angel bras (not the push-up style, the "normal" one), all of which have that micro-whatever lining in them, and I actually find it very cushy and comfortable. *hides*
