I give up. Fandom has moved on. I'm reading fic nearly exclusively at AO3. The Teen Wolf fandom is almost entirely on Tumblr. So I have one, unsurprisingly I am turnonmyheels over there.

Yeah, I've been wondering about moving somewhere? Because LJ is emptying out and there are probably better platforms for what I'm looking for? But I'm lazy and it's all here, and DW doesn't seem to have more people andandand.

I keep wishing Google+ would take over the social media, though, cuz FB is annoying. Anyway, I hear tumblr can be fun, even if it's almost entirely pics?

Others on my f-list seems to be Just getting in to Teen Wolf and loving it. I find the references to Lydia surprising *g*.

I think I'll keep LJ for non-fannish interactions. And I'm sure fannish interaction as well, but for fannish discussion and all, apparently Tumblr is the place to be.

To be quite honest, other than posting fic and saying very briefly what I enjoy or don't enjoy I'm not really fannishly active. Which is weird when I think about how much fic I read. I'd say I average 35k words a day.

Like, I get scrolling down and looking at awesome pictures and funny gifs and shit like that. What i *don't* understand is how you're supposed to interact. I DESPISE the fact that in order to respond to someone, you have to reblog their entire post and then the whole fucking world sees it.

So, yeah, I go over there and look. I read some meta, but by the third time I've seen the same fucking thing re-blogged ad infinitum, I close the browser and go back to searching for fic on pinboard.

I don't get Tumblr. I mean, aside from as a place to look at cute gifs & pics. There's no interaction. *old fandom hag*

You are *absolutely* correct. I despise any sort of fannish discussion or fic posting over there. BUT, I do love the pics and the gifs and TW is almost entirely there so, I have one, and I look at things, but I can't really bring myself to participate.

Agreed and agreed. I go over there sometimes to look at pics & such, but that's it. It's nothing I feel like I need to get an account for & I doubt that'll change unless they completely revamp their comments/reblogging/whatever section.

I get really frustrated with people who are having discussions, because it keeps showing up in the feed. I don't need to look at the same thing a billion times.

It reminds me a bit of the list servers, you'd think they would have tried to improve upon that old school inefficiency

So if all fic is being posted on AO3 and all graphics and links and whatnot are on Tumblr, how do people talk? How do people get to be friends? How do BNFs happen? How is their discussion *about* fandom? I'm not remotely fannish anymore, but I still check LJ occasionally in case one of my friends has said something. I feel like I turned into an elderly person in 4 years; fandom has changed that much.

I don't know. I mean, I do know, they "re-blog for commentary" reblog the original or reblogged post, add what they want to say on the bottom and go about their merry way. I guess once these kids put their thought to the universe they don't really care to follow what happens next?

I don't understand. But then again, I haven't really had meta discussions with people about a fandom since Buffy. Sort of. I've mostly been a squee-er or talk to my beta, or my fandom friend who is front of it since Buffy.

Nonononononono! There's actually WAY more wank. Tumblr kids will lose it at the drop of a hat. It's just harder to report on since it's often hard to read/track and usually over fairlly quickly.

I'm on tumblr and I pretty much read the majority of fics over at AO3 now...it's sad though because I don't think tumblr & AO3 have that unique sense of 'family' in the way that lj does. I mean I've truthfully met some of my best friends here on lj and it's just sad that things like that don't seem to be happening anymore around here.

Also I'm completely in LOVE with Teen Wolf and I'm completely not ashamed by that anymore. It's so good! Even when it's cheesy, it's good.

Oh and I totally agree with you that the Hardison & Eliot singalong is one of the best things that have happened on Leverage lately.

I hope my love for TVD comes back. I don't hate it or anything, I'm more or less indifferent to it. Which is so sad. :(

That's why I'm not excited about tumblr. The core of my LJ flist has been unchanged since season 6 of BtVS -- I'm still so close with all of those people. Tumblr is so -- distant.

Teen Wolf is so much fun. I am afraid it went too fast this season, but since it's got a full 22 next year hopefully they'll let some things tease out rather than rush to conclusion. Though that hasn't stopped tVD from going too fast.

I love Aldis Hodge, Christian Kane, and Beth Reisgraf SO MUCH OMG. The only reason I even watch Leverage is to see those three goof off with each other.

I've entered the rping phase now, which means I'll probably be done with the fic-writing phase soon. ;-)

Things tend to blow over very quickly, I think because it's so hard to carry on a coherent conversation over there. By the time you find a meta post, the OP has already posted a gazillion other things and it's almost not worth commenting. It's not as easy to find wank as IMDB, but usually if you hear something that you know is bound to cause wank somewhere, all you have to do is look up the respective tags and you'll find it.
