TV!
Because isn't that what brought us together in the first place?
Some shows I've tried out recently:
Missing - an ABC show starring Ashley Judd. It's another spy show, but unlike Chuck and Burn Notice it takes itself more seriously. But not super-crazy-sci-fi like Alias. Ashley Judd is a retired spy whose son is kidnapped. She kicks a lot of ass -- seriously *phenomenal* hand to hand scenes -- trying to find him. The other awesomesauce star is SEAN BEAN!! The rest of the cast is nice, except that one female agent I'd like to rip the tongue out of. But isn't there always one whose snark goes beyond the snark line and straight into jerk?
Scandal - another ABC show. ABC, when did you start having watchable shows? First DWTS, OUAT then Revenge, now Missing and Scandal. WAY TO GO!!! You have more shows that I watch than any other network. CW used to hold that card but then I gave up on a lot of those. I digress. Scandal, starring Kerry Washington [a woman of color] is about a group of lawyers who aren't *really* lawyers, more like fixers of bad situations. I actually tuned into this show because the lead was 1) female and 2) black. It was a little OOT in the pilot, but most shows are. It was imminently watchable,
moosesal and I watched it together and agreed. It has a fairly diverse cast, well balanced between male and female, and there's also a Presidential-sex-scandal sub-plot.
I'm going to try out LA Complex on CW next week. It's got Firefly's Kaylee in it.
There's going to be a new show on ABC Family this summer about Ballet called Bun Heads.. And I saw a preview for something on the CW that's a docudrama about competitive ballet called Breaking Pointe. Everybody get their toe-shoes and resin ready for a dance-centric summer. Ballet + SYTYCD!! Dance TV 4 nights a week!
Not new show: Vampire Diaries.
The whole Elena/Damon thing with the swelling music and longing glances made me rather nauseous. I hate this whole who deserves Elena more thing, because you know what? Elena isn't a fucking prize to be won. Also SHE'S EIGHTEEN. Maybe everybody should back off and let her be 18, I mean, she'll most likely be a vampire within a season or two so let her live her life a bit, yeah? That said. HOLY COW I'm so glad Ian and Nina came out of the closet about being a couple. After watching Elena/Damon make out in a hallway I'd like to sneak a camera into Ian/Nina's bedroom and see what sort of sexy-hijinks those two yoga-hard bodies get up to.
Yes. I am a pervert. I thought everyone knew this by now.
Other than that scene and Jeremy's judgmental face about it and Tyler FREAKING out and going insane over a stupid sketch the episode was far more pleasing to me than many have been lately.
It was awesome to finally see Jeremy [naturally he can't make a good friend] and Tyler. AND ROSE I love Rose so hard. I really hate that Elena being open to kissing Damon had more to do with him sharing something so immensely private as Rose's last hours. That was private. It was between Rose and Damon and not another single solitary soul and I really hate that other people know about it now. I did however like that Jeremy immediately understood how he did it.
