Bestest birthday wishes to one of my favorite people [livejournal.com profile] dancetomato

I <3 you!

ETA Adrienne Palicki has been cast as Wonder Woman. Source

I think this is awesome news, I would have preferred Gina Torres, but I think Adrienne is an excellent choice.

Not for tonight, but next Friday, Essene is taking me to the Kennedy Center to see Kathy Griffin!!!! I'm so excited!!! Actually I do have plans, tonight we are going out for sushi. Yum!

OH Wow, that will be AWESOME. Also, sushi = yum

sometimes. I'm weird about it

Mmmm...Gina Torres... *ahem*

Um, but, yeah, as much as I adore Gina, I think she's probably a little older than what the network wanted for the part. So Adrienne is TOTALLY a great choice.

I completely approve of Adrienne, she is 5'11" and after the initial shock of her hair being different she really looks GREAT with the darker hair. I think she's a great choice. I made the mistake of reading some of the comments at the end of the article. I must remind myself often to never read comments to articles on the internet.

Yeah, I'm sure Gina is much older than they're going for [I ... have no idea how old she is] but Adrienne is 28 so. My other favorite casting choice is Archie Panjabi but I love her so much as Kalinda I'd never want her to leave the Good Wife. Did you see this week's ep yet?

[identity profile] azewewish.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, never read any comments in any fanboy setting - they're all vicious little trolls.

I know a few people were upset that Bridget Regan wasn't cast & I just want to remind them all that she's a little fucking BUSY, hello. She's got a great show in Blue Bloods, why the hell would she leave it?

And no, I am sadly very behind on TGW - like, 5 episodes. I need to catch up. I need more Kalinda in my life!

[identity profile] turnonmyheels.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
TGW has really been bringing its A-game over the past I'd say 5 episodes. They've really blown all that's come before out of the water.

I'd never particularly noticed Adrienne having had a boob job. I'm still not sure she has [nor do I care] but the comments about her being slim hipped, with no curves, and horrible fake tits foolishly surprised me. I've always thought she had a great body.

[identity profile] azewewish.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
That's exactly it. I don't think ANY of these fanboys ever watched a single episode of FNL. Adrianne has a fantastic body - she's got hips and curves and her tits are fine. She's just not Lynda Carter (or Lucy Lawless), ergo, the fanboys are gonna hate.

To be honest, I'm way more concerned about the leaked pilot script than I am about the casting. I love Wonder Woman so much & if David E. Kelly turns her into a superhero Ally McBeal, I will personally flay him alive.

[identity profile] turnonmyheels.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been a bit worried about the Kelly aspect too, there are many other people in the business I'd rather see behind the pilot than him, but what can you do?

I'm just hoping it's not as bad as The Bionic Woman turned out to be. Or the Cape. Or hell, anything really on NBC that isn't Chuck.

[identity profile] azewewish.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
There were parts of the Bionic Woman that I really, really liked. But it just wasn't a good fit for whatever NBC was trying to do with it.

[identity profile] turnonmyheels.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I loved parts of it for sure -- but overall it didn't work very well at all. Which was sad because I WANTED to love it.

[identity profile] azewewish.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Same here. But mostly I think it's just that I loved the cast. I mean, Will Yun Lee, Katee Sackoff, Isiah Washington, Miguel Ferrer...they had a dream cast & a great idea, but parts of it were just so clunky.

[identity profile] turnonmyheels.livejournal.com 2011-02-17 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
They really did have a dream cast, Will Yun Lee particularly was stunning. And Katee is one of my favorite tv girlfriends.
