Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] adis723!! I wish you a local girlfriend that's into hair and make up and the Smashbox *and* Sephora holiday cubes.

A few things of note:

1) Did y'all know the Oak Ridge Boys did a cover of Seven Nation Army? It's so fucking awesome I don't even have the words. Yes, I *did* pay my .99 and bought it from itunes

2) I've bought yet more Sons of Anarchy swag. I've got the Reaper hoodie coming soon. Other swag I've accumulated: the Season 1 and 2 extended cds, season 1 DVD, the reaper t-shirt, the t-shirt with Jax riding his bike, and the bandanna. They used to have a Reaper ipod but I don't see it anymore. If I had the bucks I would have been all over that.

You're saying to yourself right now, good GOD that woman is obsessed. You're not wrong either.

3) Last night's Sons finale was just as intense as I knew it would be. I'm still processing it and not really able to talk about it just yet. If you watched the finale and need some shoring up from Sutter, go here and read this article WARNING: complete and total spoilers for finale and some talk of the season 3 arc.

4) Over the weekend I watched the following movies

Ninja Assassin -- for what it was [eye candy martial arts with a hot male lead] I give it an A

Green Street Hooligans -- Charlie Hunnam post UKQAF pre-Sons. You can see the seeds of Jax and it's so cute. His little swagger/strut thing is adorakble

The Wrestler -- I hate that movie. HATE it.

The opening shot with the rats eating the crow was both eerily beautiful and a hell of a warning for what was to come.

The way Opie and Chibs are *there* for Jax and on it with no hesitation at all fills my heart with glee.

The one relationship this year I've loved above all others is Gemma and Unser. That's not to underplay the awesomeness of Gemma and Tara or how happy I am that Jax and Opie hugged it out and made up, but Gemma and Unser was the most surprising and easy to watch. The final shot where he's driving her out of Charming and they both look happy for the first time all season and then he reaches out and takes her hand?

Fucking pitch perfect.

I love how Stahl is sometimes a minor villain, not a villain, and then the arch-villain. I'm glad her role on the show isn't over.

After reading Sutter's interview and finding out that the actor who plays Half-sac was unhappy and wanted off the show I relaxed over his stabbing. Otherwise I was going to spend all the time between this season and next wondering whether or not he was going to make it. It also made me feel a LOT better about show runners who randomly kill off important characters for no reason whatsoever.

I'm still processing the rest. I'll end with saying the opening footage of the rat eating the crow and Jax falling to his knees on the dock and screaming were perfect bookends for the episode.

I've read some commentary about the episode where people are ALL CAPS shouting that they hate Sutter and they're never watching Sons again and they're all ENRAGED and HUFFY. I really hope that is just a knee-jerk reaction and that as hiatus progresses they'll change their minds.

Could someone explain what happened to Stahl's face? I remember her being strikingly beautiful in season 1 and this season she looks like she's wearing a Halloween mask.

Thank you! And I have had the Smashbox one in my grubby makeup obsessed hands repeatedly, but I put it down because I am RESPONSIBLE.

Green Street Hooligans is one of my all time faves. So layered, so emotional, so GOOD.

I've almost clicked the purchase button on both of them a couple of times. I can't rationalize it. I don't NEED it. le sigh.

I was really impressed with GSH it's the first time I've seen Elijah Wood outside of the Good Son where he didn't make me want to puke.

Oh, man, Green Street Hooligans... I have such love for that movie. I remember going to a screening for it, before it started playing the festivals, and everyone was so into the "special" relationship between Matt & Pete to the point that people were shouting at the screen for the two of them to kiss already. Swear to God, it's still one of THE slashiest movies I have ever seen in my life. *g*

I was so blown away by last night's SoA, man. I have no idea how they're going to top themselves. Why the hell would any fan of this show be upset at the finale? Yeah, it's a cliff-hanger, but, um, hello, that's the point of a finale.

Well, I think that's the point, but what do I know?

It was gloriously slashy and Charlie was completely adorable in that thug way he has that's so special.

Eh. Good riddidance to stupid rubbish who don't realize that you don't get the happy ending by the end of act 2. Hell, sometimes, you don't (gasp!) get a happy ending.

Otto beat the shit out of her last Season. Broke her nose, etc.

I was hoping the new face stuff was make up from the show, because of the beating but I've read commentary/speculation from other places where people discussed the possibility of her having botox or cosmetic surgery.

For my piece of mind I'm going to with it's make up for the show to reflect the beat down, 'cause the other is just too sad.

I know, right? Knee-jerk fan reaction is one thing, but real honest to god outrage and never watching again is something else entirely.
