Saw X-Men First Class. It was a first class movie. I turned to J about half-way through and said, this is an AWESOME origins story.

Finished the novel Game of Thrones

I never expected them to kill Ned. Ever. I figured he would be on the wall with Jon. I knew Drogo was going to die but I thought it be in book four or five. I figured Danni would hatch those dragon eggs, but again book four or five.

I've been thinking all along that Jon was Robert's son by Lyanna. Now I guess we'll never know?

I *hated* Catelyn at the beginning. Despised her for how she treated Jon and how weak she was regarding Brannon. I don't feel that way anymore and I am ever so glad.

I'm worried about Arya. I don't want her trapped in the city eating that brown mess. I want her free in the woods with Nymeria [please someone tell me she gets her direwolf back? except don't because I don't want to be spoiled]

Just excellent all the way around I've already started book 2.

I'm kind of hoping the tv show doesn't kill Ned. I want Sean on my tv screen.

that is all

DC is killing all my titles. I've been thinking about starting reading X-men, where would you rec I start?

Hmm, that's a good question, actually. I only read them sporadically, as I notice a series that appeals to me. And I don't know if it would be possible to go back and get every issue.

Astonishing X-Men is a good place to start. There is some basic stuff they talk about that would have been covered in earlier issues, but nothing that couldn't be picked up.

There's also the Legacy Virus series (I'm not sure if that's the actual name of the series, but that's what I call it).

The X-Men were also heavily featured in the Civil War series, though that was actually a crossover for the entire Marvel Universe.

There's also the House of M series, which would require research on Magneto and his family, but is very interesting, as it directly leads us into the main problems facing mutants today.

I'm not sure if you do torrents at all, but I did find this link, which is a torrent to get all the Ultimate Marvel series (complete), pre-reboot.

The Ultimate X-Men series is a good place for new readers to start, as there isn't nearly as much research to do on the different characters and all the things that came before to be done.

Either way, unless you can go all the way back to 1963 and start with the very first issue, there is going to be some major research.

Now....about this DC Universe...if it isn't Justice League, I'm pretty lost...any help? I've been told the characters are majorly slashy, but the little I've been able to come across didn't seem that way to me....and I'd love to know a LOT more about Superboy.

Most of my Kon knowledge comes from fanfic. Go here for awesome Tim/Kon fic: http://www.delicious.com/solaceabit/Tim%2FKon

troll these ladies for other things about Tim/Kon.

One of my all time favorite fics for any fandom EVER is in that list, Astolat's Reconcilable Differences

Kon is no-shit the child of Lex Luthor and Superman. He was created in a laboratory. He struggles with fear of his Luthor side and Clark doesn't have a real good history acting as his "parent" he essentially sent him to Smallville to live with the Kents. Most of Kon's history [that i'm aware of] happens in the Teen Titans. Not a title I've read a whole lot of, but what I've read at scans_daily I probably should.

he is almost always slashed with Tim Drake formerly Robin #3, currently Red Robin.

here is Kon's tag page at the new scans_daily

here is Tim's page there:

here's where they met for the first time: http://scans-daily.dreamwidth.org/1613426.html?#cutid1

and here's the follow up for that post http://scans-daily.dreamwidth.org/1619976.html?#cutid1

think that'll get you started?

I'm sorry it took so long to reply, I've been under a deadline at work. I just met it though so it's time things went back to normal.
